Sector 9 Aperture Sidewinder Drop Complete Longboard 36″

Sector 9 Aperture Sidewinder Drop Complete Longboard 36″

This Sector 9 Aperture Sidewinder Drop Through board is a high performance product capable of satisfying riders up to intermediate level. At 36″ long it turns on a dime, and its double King Pin trucks and solid maple wood deck give it a surprisingly high amount of stability for a relatively short board.

Easy Carving

At only 36″ long, even beginners will find it astonishingly easy to carve and turn this board in a tight radius.

As a rule of thumb, the shorter the board the less stable it is, but on this Sector 9 the double King Pin trucks and drop through deck make it feel very stable up to moderately high speeds, making this board suitable for beginners as well as intermediate riders.

Smooth Cruising

The deck has a little flex in it and the wheels are quite soft and spongy so you will get an ultra smooth ride. This is great for comfort and also reduces the stress on your knees and ankles.

Rated as ABEC 5 the bearings are of a mid level range, so you’ll not need much effort to push yourself along when cruising, and this board builds up speed fairly quickly downhill, so beginners need to be careful!

Beginner to Intermediate Board

This board makes for easy cruising and freeriding due to its high maneuverability, however, it can become quite skittish at high speed, so beginners should either upgrade to bigger wheels or leave the downhill bombing to the intermediate level riders.

Customer Reviews and Scores

An incredibly beautiful Sector 9 board that was scoring a very impressive 4.9 out of 5 stars across 50 customer reviews at the time we wrote the article.

Its beautiful graphics and curves appeal to most and its maneuverability impresses everyone.

This board is popular with beginners and intermediates, however one complaint is that at higher speed this shorter length board starts to wobble.  Some customers found that upgrading to larger wheels improved the high speed stability.

An ideal board for beginner to intermediate level riders who are looking for a highly maneuverable board for cruising and freeride.

As you would expect from a Sector 9, the components are of a high quality, durable and will last you a long time.

This is an unbelievably awesome board! Perfect for cruising the streets. You can find cheaper components on other boards but these ones will last you a long time. I’ve had this for about 2 years now and it has served me well.
Oh one thing is I dont think you can upgrade the bearings on this board.

This is my first board having not ridden for several years. You can find cheaper set-ups than this but in my opinion it is worth spending the extra for a good piece of kit. i’m a big fan of carving so my buddies told me to get this Sidewinder and it hasnt disappointed. You can do a full 180 degree turn in about 10 to 15ft and i love its smooth ride over bumps and manhole covers in the sidewalk. i recon i’ll upgrade the beardings to Reds in a few weeks just to give me a little extra speed when i’m pushing the board along.
Would I recommend this board to a friend? Hell yeah.
