Smooth and Stable Riding

This board is 34.5 inches long which is a little smaller than most downhill boards. You’d usually expect a downhill board to be in the range of 37 to 43 inches long. Despite this, the board offers a stable and comfortable ride at high speed downhill. It gains extra stability from the large soft 70mm wheels and rugged 7 inch trucks.

The deck is made of both multiply-hardwood and bamboo. The bamboo gives the deck that little bit of flex to absorb bumps in an uneven riding surface and ease the stress on your knees and back.

Good for Cruising or Downhill

This board is promoted as a ‘downhill longboard’, but at only 34.5 inches it actually sits in the range to be a good multi-purpose board. You could comfortably cruise on this board, and the medium deck length and large grippy wheels make it easy to carve and maneuver on.

Our pro tip is that if you are a fairly slim or a short person then you’ll need to loosen the trucks on this board first. It’s a five minute job and easy to do. Otherwise you’ll find it difficult to carve on this.

Customer Reviews and Scores

This board gets impressive feedback from customers who have very little negative to say about it. On Amazon it scores a very respectable 4.7 out of 5 stars, reflecting unusually high customer satisfaction.

Customers consider this board to be excellent value for money, great for cruising and downhill, and a piece of cake to carve on.

Minor complaints are about the grip tape saying it is of mediocre quality and some suggest buying a replacement. Our advice is to try the board out first prior to buying more grip tape. For us the tape was fine, but if you do find it wears down too fast then you can easily buy Quest’s own replacement grip tape for just $2.50 here. I certainly wouldn’t let it put you off purchasing this board since it is so easily resolved.

The ABEC 5 bearings are considered to be adequate to good by most customers. If at a later stage you really want to make this board fly then we’d recommend upgrading to Bones Reds bearings which start at just $6.99.

If you are looking for a longboard for downhill riding or cruising and don’t want to splash out on a high budget board then this Quest is a good option. For a learner this board offers durability, easy handling, stability and sufficient speed to keep challenged. For more advanced riders, upgrading the bearings will you a high-speed downhill board for a dirt-cheap price.

Awesome ride on this board. I’ve had this over 12 months now and it has taken a few knocks and bumps but still rides like a dream. Thanks for the tip about upgrading the bearings. Think I’ll do that.
