The Rimable Drop-through Longboard 41-inch is this season’s hot new seller. With its affordable price and high quality components, this has become very popular among both novice and intermediate riders.
The first thing you’ll notice when you receive this board is that the plastic wrapping actually goes under the truck its self, so after you tear off the wrapping from the deck, you are left with bits of plastic sticking out from under the truck. It’s no big problem though, because you just have to cut away the remaining plastic with a hobby knife.
Looking at the board its self, it has mid sized 70mm diameter wheels which are rated at 85A, which means they are quite hard. Hard wheels make for a fast ride, but offer less grip than softer wheels.
The deck is made of 9 plies of maple wood. More plies equals increased strength, and the lamination on the Rimable ensures that the deck remains weather proof and is less prone to getting chips. The maple deck does have some flex in it, which tends to absorb the bumps as you travel over stones or cracks in the sidewalk, giving a nice smooth ride.
The grip tape on the top of the board is of high quality, so will easily keep you on the board in wet weather, and is unlikely to peel away with long-term use.
On the underside of the board is a really high quality design, more typically seen on the high-budget boards. The scrawl graphics are screen printed on, so unlike stickers, they won’t peel off in the wet. I’ve been hearing a lot of positive feedback from people saying they really like the graphic design.
The trucks are quite wide, which further provides increased stability, and because of the drop through design of this board, the deck of the board is located low to the ground, and therefore gives it a low center of gravity, which increases stability further.
The trucks are made of very thick and heavy-duty aluminum, so you’ll not need to worry about them cracking or bending.
The ends of the board narrow where the wheels are. The advantage of this is that when you lean on the board to turn or carve on it, the wheels will not bite against the underside of the board. Coupled with this, the trucks are quite flexible, which overall allows the rider to effortlessly turn in a tight radius.

Customer Reviews and Scores
On Amazon, this board scored an impressive average rating of 4.4 stars across 167 reviews. There are some complaints. One common complaint as mentioned above, is that that the plastic wrapping is a bit of a nuisance to remove, so you may need to whip out a knife to remove it cleanly.
If you are particularly heavy or particularly light in weight, then some buyers have commented that they had to adjust the tightness of the trucks. This is a 2 minute job if you own an all-in-one skate tool.
Some buyers felt that the wheels slowed down quite quickly after they stopped pushing. If this is a concern for you, we’d recommend upgrading the bearings cheaply with these Bones Red bearings.
A low cost board that gives you a lot of bang for your buck, which is ideally suited to cruising and carving. For a beginner rider, getting this board is a “no brainer”, and for an intermediate rider, it can be upgraded with a set of Bones red bearings to keep you challenged at higher speeds.
