The Atom Pintail Longboard is designed as a affordable, entry level board for people who have no previous experience of riding.
Atom has designed this to be as easy to ride as possible, with its classic deck shape meaning that you won’t get any wheel bite when carving through tight turns.
Easy To Ride
Let’s face it, one of the most important things in an entry level board is for it to be easy to ride, and Atom have done a great job with the Pintail Longboard.
One of the trickiest, yet most essential maneuvers to master when you start riding is carving. Carving is when you shift your weight on the board to make tight turns in an ‘s’ pattern. This is done to slow you down and make tight turns. Here’s the problem though; with a lot of boards, when you carve, the deck of the board touches against the wheels – that’s called ‘biting’, and it will often throw you off the board. Atom have got around that problem with a unique deck shape, meaning you can carve as tightly as you want, without the risk of wheel bite.
You’ll also find this board to be very stable, and with its decent bearings you can get plenty of speed with minimal effort!
Perfect For Cruising
The deck has a fair amount of flex in it which makes it slightly less suitable for downhill, but great for cruising. That little bit of flex will absorb the bumps of a rough road surface and place less stress on your leg and back joints. This board is actually one of the best longboard cruiser.
The deck is not that long at 39 inches, and also fairly light weight so you can carry it around with you quite easily.

Customer Reviews and Scores
This is an extremely versatile board and offers beginner riders a huge amount for such a low price. This board scores very strongly with an average of 4.5 out of 5 stars across 191 customer reviews. There are a lot other longboard reviews that you can view.
Most customers agree that this board is good for most of the things that high budget boards are capable of, such as downhill and tricks, but it is best for cruising.
Lots of customers agree that the quality and construction of this board is very high, but there are a few minor points that have been mentioned:
If you do a lot of sliding on the board then these wheels are going to get flat spots on them quite quickly, so you’d need to be prepared to replace them.
A couple of people have mentioned that after a few months the grip surface on the top of the deck started to come away, but they were able to fix this with some home glue.
Overall this is seen to be an excellent board and the overwhelming majority of people strongly recommend purchasing it.
A great board for beginners who want to try longboarding for cruising around town or some carving and easy downhill runs.
